The heart and soul of Oqaqeni KwaNodunga in KwaMaphumulo traditionally known as KwaNgoni lies Ezithabeni Secondary School , A public school managed and owned by Department of Education.
Our School opened its doors as a junior secondary school on 6 February 1979 with an enrolment of 110 learners and 2 educators including the Principal. It introduced its first Senior Certificate class in 1990, We are a stable and caring school which provides quality education to learners while stimulating them to perform at their highest level of performance.

History in the making.
With over 45 years of delivering quality education, The name Ezithabeni in this context refers to a flat area, which is the name of one of the residential areas in Nodunga Traditional authority but the school is strategically positioned on top of the hill, which gives us the view of both Indian Ocean (in the South) and the Drakensburg Mountains (in the North).
